Questions and conversations

Hi I am Kai, I have moved onto the interview project due to unfortunate medical circumstances and as I am a boarder who lives in Spain, I have decided to do a solo project as a response to the situation. I have decided that I want to make a documentary on the Drag in Madrid as I am interested in what it is like creating a stage character for yourself, and how it feels  to have a character you made as well as how it feels to be who you want to be. I find it incredibly interesting that people can express different identities and feel a new level of comfort within them. I believe it would be an interesting interview to film an intimate view into the life of drag focusing on one or two people, expressing their experiences of what drag is like for them and how it effects their life on a day to day bases. I am planing on creating a piece of film no longer than ten minutes in total. For this project I am planning on building a small team of 2 or 3 to be involved with the audio and voice over. I am planning that filming would include two or three filming sessions, an interview and filming of three or four scenes that tell the audience about who the contributors are and what they feel comfortable talking about.

After discussions with my mum's work partner Lucas, who has the contacts of the contributors he decided that he was happy to get them involved as long as I can present him with a list of questions that I will be asking them to avoid any sort of offences being taken. After this conversation I decided it would be worth brain storming some ideas of questions that would be interesting to ask and be considerate towards my contributors. I decided that the questions will need to be open ended and short to give the contributors as much space to reply to the questions and hopefully will allow them to give me a deeper more personal insight into the life of drag in Madrid.

Question examples:

- What is your name?

- What does it feel like before you go on stage?

- Tell me about your character, How did you come up with them?

- How do people respond to your character?

- Whats your first memory of drag?

- Talk me through a typical day

- What is it like after the show?

- How do you prepare yourself for a performance?

- What is it like being fabulous?
