Q & A

What did I learn from Emma Stakes and her Little big music presentation?

  •  The key to getting what you want out of the music industry is through your publishers, working with the artists and most importantly doing the most you can by yourself.
  • You can be found and established through your social media.
  • Making sure to get global offers on your products and artists so that they are spread on a global basis.
  • Take a  wide variety of artists randoms and big artists such as Ed Sheeran or Ellie Goulding.
  • Look after the whole team that is developing the project don't just focus on the artist, focus on the songwriter etc.
  • You work with your artist to build their organic public image that represents them well.
  •  You've got to start from somewhere, you need a small pre-existing fan base.
  • If you make a remake of a song and get a license for it you still get paid a masters for the creation using that song. Much like one kid she had who took 'Put your records on' re made it and made a huge sum after being discovered on Tiktoc.
  • 100million streams makes you $500K.
  •  You can organically hope it trends or you have to do as much as you possibly can to make it trend , use hashtags, post on multiple platforms etc.
  • Magazines & marketing
  • Tap into a local network if you don't have the funds.
  • Build a release strategy
  • Synthetic vs Organic it is hard to tell which one is more successful.
  • Don't have a set plan you use to tackle every artist do what fits the person at hand.
  • keep with the trends.
  • Find investors
