Who would distribute my product?

I have multiple options for the distribution of my product. As it is a low budget production such as Belstone Picture's Tank432. I have multiple options of distribution starting with online self-distribution.

Online self-distribution is an online strategy that directly targets your target audience. By finding NGOs and support groups that relate to the film's message  (non-governmental organizations)  and different film support groups. For first time release on a small budget documentary that has been done by an independent production company 'Youth Fashion Documentaries' it is a good idea to release the product onto Vimeo and Youtube as these are open access platforms that don't need to be paid for and a wider range of people will feel more inclined to watch the product. The issue with this strategy is that making profit on the box office release is less likely and it in general cheapens the brand of the product. Not making a profit could prove an issue however if the product has investors and angel investors that will be expecting a return.

My product could also be distributed to big streaming sites such as Netfix, Amazon and HBO etc. To do this I would have to organize a contract with the streaming service to distribute my product to the correct target audience within the countries that they have the legality to distribute in. Quiver is a website that takes submitions of films done by independent companies, they are aggregators that help distribute your product to the correct streaming platforms and target audience, if a streaming platform decides to take on my product they will most likely require a cut of the profits that the documentary receives. CreateSpace is also a tool that can be used to distribute small independent film. Film hub can also be used as it matches you video to the correct streaming service that should distribute my product.

Another way in which I could distribute my product is through 'Broadcast Television', this would include TV channels such as ITV, BBC etc. I would submit my proposal for my documentary outlining its contents and why it is relevant. A good way to pitch my documentary is through film festivals as this can lure the attention of television executives that may request to distribute and exhibit my documentary onto their TV network.Another way I could pitch my documentary is by setting up a face to face meeting with one of the networkers, I need which would be done by networking with industry professionals that could open new doors and opportunities for my product, If the product developes an interest they will send me a contact to one of their distributor heads that can then distribute my documentary.

I could also distribute my product by using online documentary channels, on youtube; there are many groups that will distribute your documentary after submissions such as 'First Documentary' ,'DW Documentaries' or 'Real stories', these are large documentary channels that exist on youtube that have a large pre-existing fan base with regular uploads. This distribution method would allow for instant views on my independent documentary.

As previously suggested a smart way to distribute my documentary is through film festivals. By establishing my documentary and my production company 'Youth Fashion Documentaries' I will be able to create a fanbase that matches the requirements of my product. This is a simple idea that showcases my product to an international audience, this would also give me the chance to network with the people who are a part of the film festival and different panel  that will be able to invest in my product and my documentary as I will need funds and support to market my product to a wide target audience.
