Editting Part 1

Setting up the software: For this project, I decided to use DaVinci Resolve, as it was the most available software to me when starting. Originally when setting I up I ran into some problems such as landing with a code required that I never received as well as the software itself not wanting to run. To overcome this I went back to the DaVinci resolve website and changed some of the settings of the installation as the studio setting was not willing to run. Once the Software ran I was able to start organising the settings of the resolution for the edit, I ensured to put the highest quality option being 1440p - Quad HD which is a frame size in pixels (WxH) of 2,560x1,440 as I wanted the image to be high quality and crisp. Due to the camera, I was using it meant that I was not going to distort the image when increasing the quality.  I also input that when Exporting it will export in an MP4 format.

I then started to import my footage onto the software, after checking my footage I adjusted the audio settings by muting some shots and increasing the volume in others. Once all my quality footage was added to the software I had 1hour and 13 minutes of pure footage and B-roll. I needed to reduce this footage to 5 minutes.

My next step was to start to put my footage in the order that suited it best, I decided to follow the inspiration I had from The Little Pyongyang and make my opening scene an extreme-close up, pan up from lips to eyes. Which I will be adding music too.

I then added my Opening title ' Youth fashion Documentary' - this took a while as I was trying to understand my way around the software as it is a software I am not familiar with. Finally, I was successful with adding this.
