Examples of conventions:
After looking at a few magazine examples it was clear that the most commonly use one image and describe what the show was about and like.
In Vogues magazines and articles about fashion documentaries, they display a very short blurb about the documentary and what their opinions were on the project, in the example above we can clearly see that Vogue strongly enjoyed this fashion documentary.
In this other example with Behance, we can see that they used a very minimal colour pallet keeping the colours of their magazine neutral. Behance ensures to deliver a detailed blurb of the fashion industry and the topic making sure to express as much as it can out of the given event or production release.
My Creation:
When creating my magazine blurb on Canva I wanted to ensure that I was including as many of the conventions as I could. To do this I started by putting the name of the magazine at the top with an image presenting the subject in this case an image of my production company ' Youth Fashion productions and documentaries. After this, I included a long blurb about what the documentary is about and who it is referring to in the industry being Lucas that I accompanied with a photo of him. I included only one image as this seemed to be the common convention of magazine blurbs about documentaries. I then included the barcode at the bottom of the page as well as changing the date the magazine is being released.
Full written blurb:
This documentary takes a deep dive into the fashion industry from a young perspective, looking into the life of 23, year-old Lucas, who is an up and rising fashion designer. Lucas was a competitor in El Maestros de la Costura, he was the youngest competitor ever enrolled, with an incredible performance he placed 3rd overall against fashion designers who have been in the industry for over 20years. However, he expressed a dark side to the industry and the dilemmas of what is hidden from the public eye. In this documentary Youth Fashion, we illustrate and expose the dark side of the industry as well as what it is like to rise in the industry. A documentary to be remembered. As a production company we wanted to give the opportunity for the story to be told from the perspective of someone who Is young in the industry and is going through the experiences in the present moment, I wanted a documentary that has relevance to the current moment, and what is fresher than someone moving up the fashion ladder in the present day? This is a truly moving piece of film that re-invents the perspectives of fashion we have today. Based in Spain it captures an international perspective on the industry, that is not so oftenly presented by the British TV stations.
